*KIDDING* about the Valerie Harper part!
But it is being adapted to the screen, and Tovah may star.

oh I got so mad when I saw the kidding, but then I realized it was just about her
SO glad this is being adapted, since, I probably won't have the chance to see it
Best news of the day.
Good. I kept thinking throughout the entire thing what a fantastic movie it would make, because the play is definitely not compelling theater.
"...the play is definitely not compelling theater."
I can't think of anything I've ever read on these boards with which I disagree more strongly.
Having said that, the story was originally written as a movie, and was rewritten as a play when no funding for a movie was available.
I haven't seen the play, but I can't imagine Scarlett Johansson in any part that requires the kind of complexity I imagine this character needs. She's not a bad actress, but I don't think she possesses the ability to get herself lost in a role the way say Natalie Portman, Mamie Gummer, or other actresses her age do.
Are you making fun of me? LOL!!!
This thread title is absolutely hilarious!!
That being said, I'm thrilled about the news that this is being adapted for the big screen...and Tovah deserves to star in this (just like Carol Channing should have starred in DOLLY instead of the dreadful Streisand - that movie was true pain).
