Idina Joining the Tour in Boston?

Anyone hear anything about Idina Menzel joining the Wicked tour in Boston? My friend told me she heard that... I would have to go see it everyday if that's the case!!!!

That would be great, but I highly doubt it.

She's got a lot going on what with RENT being released (and ASK THE DUST), and a new CD contract and SWIWS and she definitely has other things on her plate that havent been announced yet.

Sounds like one of two things.

A) Someone is engaging in wishful thinking.

B) Someone who knows very little about theater is shooting their mouth off.

I agree that it is highly unlikely, but she is a theatre freak. Apparently that's the rumor going around at her college... Oh well... I'll just get my Idina fix from the CD... But wishful thinking never hurt anyone, has it? Haha..

And yes, Boston is a VERY cool city... I consider it second to NY when it comes to theatre... that might be because I live there but who know?

I predict that Whitney will be on Broadway before Idina goes back to doing Elphaba on stage.

A movie in a few years - who knows.

She has been working to distance herself from that character since leaving the show - case in point, SWIWS. Can't see her doing that again unless she and Taye were really broke and they paid her huge amounts of cash, and even then, doubtful.

I would be more interested in seeing her do Maureen live again.

No. I didn't get tickets on account of seeing Idina,, if that is even true. Well, I don't even have the tickets yet. But they have been ordered.

Yeah, thats what struck me as a little odd about it, YouWantItWhen... I would've thought she'd be sick and tired of playing Elphaba by now... Her website says nothing about it and if that was the case it would've been big new so I'm figuring its a resounding No... I'm still seeing the show. I love Stephanie J. Block so it's all good!

I think there is a better chance of seeing ME as Elphaba than seeing Idina in it again, especially on tour. Besides, I would have to drive to Boston to see her and that would suck considering I just moved so close to Broadway.
