Has anyone noticed, from the original cast recording, to the new cast recording, Idina Menzels vocals are featured more, by that I am I mean more prominant when it comes to group vocals, (is it because shes more famous etc? ) such as Seasons of Love. Has anyone else noticed this?
It's probably because there are only three women in the cast. If you listen, you can hear Tracie really well in the group numbers as well. Rosario's voice isn't quite as distinctive as the other two.
it's only cuz lyke omfg she's Elphaba!!11one!!
Kidding...*shrug*...I have no idea.

I've noticed it, especially in Seasons of Love....it's just the arrangement of the female voices in the songs. Her voice is the strongest, followed in a close second by Tracie. Rosario doesn't even apply.
i love idina as much as the next person...but i dont get why people are overly obsessed with her. From what I hear shes not even nice to her fans.
*repeatedly bangs head on desk*
whats wrong with what i've said?
she's not nice to the freaks...
I love when conversations veer towards Idina's mean-ness towards my fans. Genuinely, I do.
I shouldn't even say that she's not nice...I think she just gets annoyed. Wouldn't you?
I said this after I saw SWIWS and she literally had Public employees escorting her out of the lobby, and almost running past people.
On one hand, there's only like, 20 people waiting for her. Suck it up and sign a few autographs.
On the other hand, every single one of them chased her out of the lobby and to the sidewalk. And then I "got" why she avoids them.
If you use Seasons of Love as an example for comparison, it's because there's only 8 people singing it as opposed to the 15. So obviously individuals are going to stand out more. I think Adam's voice stands out the most of the male voices in Seasons of Love, but that doesn't mean I'm going to cry conspiracy.

Honestly now, if you had fans like hers, wouldn't you be a little rude every so often. Especially since she's known for being shy, I imagine being obsessed/stalked by hoards of 13 y/o girls is more than a little uncomfortable.
Orangeskittles, its a conspiracy. Trust me. Both Idina and Adam are trying to have solo careers so whoever mixed the CD decided they'd be louder because obviously that will boost their careers. Or something.

Like when she kicked me in the face. I was so stunned she got her leg up that high...then the pain kicked in.
J/K I think she is very accomodating to her fans - considering the circumstances.
The funny thing about this dicussion about how Idina treats her fans (besides the fact that it's irrelevant to how TALENTED someone thinks she is...) is that Idina is not rude. I have not seen her be rude. I have seen her become very uncomfortable with how pushy fans get, and thus be very quiet and standoff-ish. But downright rude? Can't say I've ever seen it or heard of her being rude. Where are we getting this from, that she's rude?
Now her fans. Well, if you want to talk about rude...
Idina has been known to rush by fans or sign quickly and walk off. She is known for her shyness offstage. Watch any interview and that is clear. Her 'tween fans are SUPER obsessive as well. You also have to keep in mind that she has received death threats becuase of her marriage. All that would cause me to rush past people waiting to speak to me on occasion. But I am a little partial.
Hey, even if I wasn't shy in public (and I'm not - and I think I'd be even better in public if I had people who loved me), if I had some of those fans, I'd run the hell away as well.
well, lyke, i dunno, jerseygirl, this 1on tyme, i lyke...saw her in wicked, and afterwards, I lyke...put my playbill thingy lyke RITE up to her knows, and she didnt SINE it fur me! and i dont no y! i mea, it was literally rite under he rnose, and i screamed "omg, idina i luv you! ur my inspiration!" and she didnt even respond! and i yelled it rite in her ear, she lyke...so TOTULLY culd here me! wut a bitch!

uh, sounds like a seeeerious biyatch 2 me!
totally! im so not her fan nemore becuz she wasnt nyce 2 me!
Why is it with every conceivable thread that mentions Idina, someone always has to bring up the notion of her being mean/not nice/a bizzatch to her fans? (Why won't you use the search feature for that?) It's fascinating to see that no one had complained about that as of yet, but then there is so much animosity to other sorts of Idina/Wicked threads.
My experience of asking Idina for an autograph was an accommodating one. I certainly recalled her being irked when she accosted by overzealous people shoving things in her face, but she was patient, and hung around after the Today Show for a longer time than any of the other cast members. As for disliking her younger teenybopper fans, she only took pictures with them at that event. Damn for looking older than I really am.
Going back on topic, 3 females: Idina, Tracie and Rosario. Tracie does have the solo in SoL, and Rosario is not as vocally strong as her other female costars, thus the boost of Idina's vocals? Makes sense to me.

Actually, Marlene, this thread's intent was to bring out her "rudeness"
(Or lackthereof)

An actress' obligations to her public are fulfilled once her performance is given and the final curtain comes down. It is certainly nice if she's gracious, signs autographs, says a few kind words--but it is in no way a job requirement. Many perfectly nice celebrities (of all time periods) have remarked how surreal it is to be constantly mobbed by obsessed fans who are convinced that they know all about you because they've seen you play a role. And just because someone is in show business doesn't mean they can't be as shy and as awkward with strangers as the rest of us.
That said, just be glad she's not Faye Dunaway. I've heard that woman is rude to EVERYONE...
