Idina and Josh Groban concert Feb12th in London#1

Posted: 2/1/07 at 2:18pm

"In a Valentine Special, American singing sensation Josh Groban performs with the BBC Concert Orchestra, conducted by Martin Yates. The concert, which will be recorded on Monday 12 February at the Mermaid in London, also features Idina Menzel, who played Elpheba in the Broadway and West End premiers of Wicked, Lucia Micarelli, an amazing violinist who features on Josh's new album, and the brilliant Angelique Kidjo."

Q:What advice do you have for aspiring Broadway stars who are terminally shy? I love your work, because you seem so bold. How do you do it? A:"I think I take more chances on stage then I do in real life but you can't learn anything if you don't challenge yourself. And don't say "terminally". If you love to perform then you have no choice, just keep training and focus on the words or the music whenever you find yourself slipping back inside yourself. You're not doing anyone any favors if you withhold your talents from the world"- Idina Menzel

Well, even if you're not in London, you don't have to completely miss the concert. You can listen to it through the website linked in the first post. February 16th.

It is nice that they spelt her role wrong...would it kill someone to maybe look in a playbill or website?

I know, seriously. But alas, London does not have playbills and perhaps they were too cheap to spend the $12 bucks on the fancy souvenir programs... *shrug*

someone put up clips of the songs she sang at this site:
idina-here.com
The title of her new song is Where do I begin?
I can't wait to here the rest of her duet with Josh, The Prayer. I love that song, and it should be interesting to hear` since its a song typically done by a high saprano.

Oh wow, they sang The Prayer? Very cool. I can't wait to listen on the 16th!

Seeing as how "The Prayer" was first sung by Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli (with Josh being discovered when Bocelli couldn't sing an awards show), I imagine they will do that arrangement so she'll be just fine belting out Celine's notes.

ITA, I keep listining to that clip of Where do I Begin from Kim's site, because that song is amazing, and I can't wait to here the rest of The Prayer, I love Josh's voice and they probably sounded amazing together.I can't wait to here the rest of the 2 songs on friday. It sounds like the concert was amazing, but from what I hear Idina could have done without the fangirls chanting her name and people showing up with green glow sticks.
