Hussy
Hussy: The Universal Answer to Everything
And usually the right answer, too.
I used to hate it. Now I love it!
Don't slit your wrists if you're going to miss Idina. Yes, she's amazing, but then again...so is Eden. Sitting in the Gershwin theater main entrance/lobby, I HEARD her belting the crap out of the end of defying gravity, and it blew me away. Trust me, she is just as amazing...so great.

Gypsy2...thank you. I will reconsider. You dont know how happy i am that Eden will be good. thanks!!
gravitydefying, was that sarcasm or sincerity? I have a hard time telling the difference. ^_^
As some one said in another thread DG2, the posts you've made in the last few minutes have been out of control. If you have such a strong opinion then EXPLAIN it...if that's too much for you, then don't bother posting, because your words are offensive and uncalled for.
somebody needs a time out.
DG2, just out of curiosity how old are you? Not that it has anything to do with the O SO MATURE content of your posts...
lol I feel like I'm reading one of MelB4ever's posts again.
Actually I had a very long reply typed out but decided that eyes so young as yours should not be plagued with what I would like to say to you.

Aw shucks (or shux, as our favorite poster would say).

I don't need to make you laugh. Go read one of DG2's posts. Updated On: 5/31/04 at 09:30 PM
Dude, HUSSY is definitely DAME's territory... I think she/he(?) should copyright it... just like Donald Trump and his "you're fired" crap... lol Sorry, off-topic again...
DG2, you did not explain. What about her performance is so horrendous? The CD actually isn't anything that spectacular. I never saw her as better than Kristin Chenoweth, until I saw the show the second time. Idina sang so amazingly that just wow. Her technique was flawless. So open, so free. Eden on Chatterbox is horrible. She screams rather than sings on the entire song, but I've heard that she doesn't do that on stage. I'm really trying to see Idina next time, but part of me wants to see what everyone is talking about with Eden. No one should ever go to a Broadway show and expect the same thing as is on a CD. If you want that, watch a movie. The beauty of live performance is that it's a little different every time, especially when a character is out. Seeing a different take is part of the fun. Eden should not try to be a clone of Idina, that's just bad acting. She has to try to be Elphaba not Idina's Elphaba. That's what people are complaining about, you're not address any of these issues. You're just saying she doesn't compare. Why doesn't she compare? That's what we want to know. You're intitled to your opinion, but it's completely invalid if you can't back it up with anything.
I love Eden on the Chatterbox.
Your icon is of Idina Menzel? How can you like Eden on Chatterbox? She doesn't even hit the high F on pitch. One of my kids put it perfectly, "Where's Simon when we need him?" Look, I know "Defying Gravity" is tough as hell, but this is Broadway, a good performance should be minimum. An ok performance is not acceptable at this level. I don't mean to sound cold, but if you can't do it well consistantly...I know people have off nights, and I'm hoping that's all that the recording I have is, but for the most part...
Yes, my icon is Idina, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be bitter about her understudy not being her. I don't think Eden's Defying Gravity is up to par with Idina's, but I think it's great, and I think she has a great voice. Very different, but that doesn't make her bad.
I'd love to see her as Elphaba. I just may get tickets.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that LBB was being instructed to imitate KC.
And MusicPos2-could you PM me? Thanks a bunch!
**EDIT**
First time around I had a typo.
I meant to say that's it's awful if LBB is being instructed to imitate Kristin, because that is LBB #1 problem, sorry about that.

I didn't say that Eden should play it like Idina does. She shouldn't, but she should be able to stay on key, which she doesn't on Chatterbox. That's my concern. Not having seen her in the show, I can't say any more. I sure hope LBB isn't being instructed to imitate Kristin. That was a problem with THE PRODUCERS when I saw it. They were imitating the originals. Updated On: 5/31/04 at 10:33 PM
as much as I love her, Idina isn't *always* on key either. Updated On: 5/31/04 at 10:42 PM
Don't base her talent on what she did on Chatterbox. Remember how Stephen Shwartz said if there's any key problems, it's cause he's on piano? Remember?
True, but that's why I said about Chatterbox. And it's not an issue with the piano. She's too tense in the throat on Chatterbox. It could be nerves. I know that when I was working on "For Good" I sang it poorly b/c my voice teacher was struggling with the piano, so I didn't sing as well, as I usually do. Maybe that's what's going on. I've said myself, I need to see it. I actually tried to schedule a trip to see both of them, but I'm not missing Idina, unless I have to, and my schedule doesn't allow me to go on 7/2 and see it two days in a row. If I were still in NYC...
