OK, I've learned not to listen to Mr Roxy on here, since he seems to have the same thoughts 10 years ago, and he was wrong then, too.
Here is his post the day Wicked reviews were coming in (emphasis mine): "Believe the story & Wizard of Oz being burned into everyones memory will save the day here. As far as the score, if it is so bad , why is the score being recorded ?"
So, if he's been active on this site since that time, and is surprised by the same things after 10 years, we're not going to change him. heh.
Is every If/Then thread going to turn into this debate? We won't know how reviews effect the show for a few months, once their healthy advance wears out.
IMO, I think the Tony committee will be a lot more receptive to the piece than the reviewers were. But that's just my opinion. Everyone has one.
