They obviously didn't want the risk of being nominated and losing. Of course the Helen Hayes are prestigious.

I knew they were considered prestigious here -- I just didn't know whether they were considered prestigious in New York, because you guys have the Tonys and all that.

I'll bet Idina would have picked up one at least (although Sutton Foster was a spectacular Reno Sweeney!). But as you say, maybe they just didn't want to take any risks there.

For the record, Idina routinely sells out concert halls of 1500+ nationwide and overseas - and certainly far outside NYC.

And that was before this huge "push" as a result of Frozen and the # of people learning who she is (her Let It Go video has over 60,000,000 views on YouTube).

It's not unheard of that the show will sell well for a period of time largely as a result of her.

She plays for one night, love.

In any event, I hope her true fans scream her lungs out before she even does anything. That is going to be so good!
