Being a long time Broadway fan, I sadly learned years ago that the Tony Award is meaningless.

I'm not so sure about that. All the bickering sort of sucks all the fun right out of it.
But doesn't this convo happen every year? "If ______ wins, it will be the end of Broadway!" Broadway isn't like some new, shaky enterprise. Believe it or not, Broadway has actually been around quite a while. *gasp* I think it would take more than a show you don't like winning the Tony to completely destroy it.
