I assume Joel Grey is under consideration as well. Someone above mentioned that he'd be considered in the best leading actor category but I know that when Bill McCutcheon won the TONY for the role of Moonface for the 1987 production, it was in the featured category.
With the poor reviews for WONDERLAND, and awful word of mouth for BABY, IT'S YOU, Sherie Rene Scott's chances for a nomination just grew enormously.
Grey will get bumped to Featured, but probably won't be nominated (and certainly doesn't deserve to, for that nightmare of a performance).
BEST MUSICAL
BABY IT'S YOU! - no way
BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON - highly doubtful
THE BOOK OF MORMON - yes
CATCH ME IF YOU CAN - possibly
DONNY & MARIE - no
ELF - slim chance
THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE - slim chance
PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT - yes
RAIN - no
THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS - possibly
SISTER ACT - waiting for reviews
WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN - no
WONDERLAND: A NEW ALICE - no
so as far as I'm concerned, the only locks are Book of Mormon & Priscilla. the final two spots depend on reviews for Sister Act and if the nomination committee remebered The Scottsboro Boys. does anyone think Elf could sneek in for that final nomination??
