Posted: 5/29/12 at 8:22pmI would say that it is now a safe bet that Jesse Tyler Ferguson is NOT happening.

Posted: 5/29/12 at 9:09pmNo, my friend told me he's definitely doing it. And my friend would know since she's my friend.

Posted: 5/29/12 at 9:36pmMy dream is still for Jason Segel to play the Baker, but I don't see that happening. At least not for this production.

Posted: 5/29/12 at 10:51pmJordan Catalano, I'm awful at discerning Internet sarcasm so I can't tell if you're serious or not (I'm guessing the latter), but there might be a slight problem with the fact that The Producers is July 28-30 in Los Angeles and Into the Woods is July 23-August 25 in New York...

Posted: 5/29/12 at 11:08pmWould it be possible for Ferguson to be in tech for two shows at once??????????????????
#32Into the Woods: Shakespeare in the Park Casting?!
Posted: 5/29/12 at 11:14pmI don't think it's possible for him to be in two shows at once on opposite sides of the country, especially now that the Concorde's not a thing (and never was a thing between JFK and LAX)

Posted: 5/29/12 at 11:22pmWasn't there a rumor about Brian d'Arcy James? I'd be thrilled if that ended up happening.

Honey, do you watch Smash? I was being sarcastic.

oh, I do! I'm just
a) not used to talking to other people who watch it AND know how theater actually works
b) as I mentioned above, TERRIBLE at discerning internet sarcasm
c) generally clueless
d) in possession of a dire need to spell things out for the most obtuse person (because I usually am that person, and appreciate having things spelled out for me)
apologies!

Posted: 5/31/12 at 1:50ami remember the first time into the woods was on broadway and didn't recoup. Then i remember the horrid revival which didn't recoup. I cannot wait for this one to come in and not recoup as well.

Pssst! Everyone else: What's with the vinegar? Did massofmen get stood up on manhunt again??
(Plus, I have to imagine that Sondheim and MTI have made a mint off of all of the regional and school productions in the last 20+ years)

so glad that Sondheim and MTI have "made a mint"! That doesn't equate to sales on the great white way. And producer deciding to bring this show to broadway again is just d-u-m-b.
AMy Adams will not sell tix. ANd with Cinderella and Ever After supposedly coming in as well, how many storybook musicals can survive at one time? But sure, GO FOR IT! its gonna run for years!

Posted: 5/31/12 at 9:42amMassofmen, if you're not personally investing in (and standing to lose money from) any of these shows, why does it matter? Producers will do what they want, and we get to sit back and enjoy the show—literally.
