It’s stuff like this that really makes me distrust and dislike Reidel. There are so many other ways he could have expressed this sentiment that don’t reveal a nasty bias. All he had to do was cite the recent ticket sales and negative reviews in order to convey this idea. But only would that have been less overtly vindictive, but it would have made him seem more credible. But he chooses to state his personal opinion as fact, THEN extrapolate from there that the Tony performance will be 100% ineffective, and use that as “proof” that the show is doomed (which it probably is, but that’s not my point). So many layers of idiocy.

It would all come down to Hugh's schedule. His next movie starts shooting this October, so there's a world where he might be available for a Spring opening? It wouldn't make sense for Michael R to be talking about a revival that's 15 months away, especially when he's so close to Rudin.

My friends who have seen Beetlejuice have always gotten TKTS and were clearly in unsold premium seats as they were front center orchestra.

Have an NYC trip scheduled for early November, seeing Hadestown, Phantom and Moulin Rouge, I'd love to see this too if it's still open

This season alone Scott Rudin was a producer on 5 of the new plays and 3 of the revivals. Clearly he's not worried about spacing out his productions to maximize his chances at winning more Tony Awards.

Biiiig financial difference between producing plays vs musicals. Not saying it would be out of the question for him to do 2 Golden Age musical revivals in one season, but that could cannibalize business. Especially when one has Bway's biggest star, and the other is bound to be experimental and maybe controversial.
