actually his name IS clifton oliver, check the playbill. and no david isn't very good, his key needs a lot of work, but i do agree his acting isn't too shabby.

Greengirl87 is not wrong. Jerad Bortz is a Fiyero understudy; I saw him on October 21. Whoever got all testy and said something about hating when poeple don't "check the website" should do so because the information is there.

Jared is the main understudy for Fiyero. Clifton has gone on before as well but Jared is David's main backup. Both have received very underwhelming response but they are understudies so I would give them a pass.

The last decent Fiyero was Joey. David and Jared are atrosicous as Fiyero. And I've seen them each two or more times.

i just had an inspired idea for a replacement, what about gavin creel, cheyanne jackson, or john hill. All 3 fit the bill and are presently unemployed

Those are great names but honestly, they are too big for the role. I like how they went to David rather than a big time star to fill the role. I think another relative unknown would be great here.

i most definitely can't see cheyenne as fiyero... gavin would be a stretch, and though unemployed as far as theatre goes, he working on his debut album right now. John Hill... maybe i guess.

I wrote a review for when I had 3 understudies last time I saw the show...*cringes*.

Jared was included. It's sad that there were 3 understudies in on Youman's last day! That's really nice. -_-

Jared played the part a bit too gay for it to be believable.

Ouch Parks. What I did not like about Botz was his complete lack of chemisrty with Shoshana and him not hitting the high notes AT all (granted David does not but he does a better job). He's an understudy so it was to be expected. I have seen David and Shoshana together about 3-4 times and they work so well together, their air is electric. If people dont care for them, well, again to each his own. Everyone's opinion is valid. But I really like them together. It would be nice to see them depart together and let some new people give it a shot.

I think John Hill and Gavin Creel would be interesting.....I saw Norbert so I can't complain. Clifton Oliver may not be a good Fiyero but he did make a good Simba. Clifton Hall is on the tour for whoever got confused.

I sure hope not. He's f-ed up every Shoshana recording I've ever heard, it'd be a shame for him to do the same to a new Elphie.
