I think the London board is dead. So posted it here . I also wanted American opinions as well.

Yes, it's fabulous and it's already announced it will be coming to New York. Amber Riley is a star and if you happen to catch one of her alternates, they're also incredible.
Amber Riley is magnificent, the show was stunning , for me worth the 35 year wait ....Along with Glenn Close in Sunset the two most amazing performances. I wouldn't miss it...
Days seats are twenty pound for front row ( stage way too high ) but once those seats are gone they start selling others at the same price
It is actually a ticket lottery done through todaytix for the front row seats. 15 seats at £15 for every performance. Dayseats available Mon-Fri only, but do check a day or two before to see if dynamic pricing has kicked in.
Its fabulous, but if you live in New York, I would say no don't see it, as its Broadway bound with Amber, same as Harry Potter.
i would say go and see Half A Sixpence and 42nd Street instead.

It's absolutely worth seeing, and I actually prefer Marisha Wallace's Effie to Amber's, so you're in great shape no matter what.
With that being said, I agree with Phantom above that you should run to see 42nd Street over Dreamgirls. It was magnificent.

Thanks Mark E , forgot it was a horrible todaytix lottery ( only horrible cause I couldn't win, but ended up with better seats via day seats )

Yes, it's great. I saw the first and fourth preview (Amber) and it was marvelous then. I'm seeing it in May with Marisha, who sounds amazing and is been getting raves, as well as (probably) Amber.
I think it's worth the trip; Amber is transferring to Bway but unclear if the actor playing James Thunder will come across. I thought he was fabulous and worth the ticket price alone (I believe he won an Olivier).
Yes. I saw it during previews over Thanksgiving Weekend. It was excellent.
