Is Jeremy Jordan really replacing Constantine in September?
#1Is Jeremy Jordan really replacing Constantine in September?
Posted: 12/22/09 at 9:47pmI saw Rock of Ages a few months ago when we were in the city and Jeremy Jordan was in for Constantine that Sunday. He was great. Then I took my Mom to West Side Story for her birthday, and there he was again. Pretty awesome. She's planning another fall trip and is a huge Idol fan. Constantine's leaving and Jeremy Jordan's taking over permanently?

Posted: 12/22/09 at 9:57pmJeremy is obviously no longer under contract with RoA, so although it's possible, I doubt he'd come back when Constantine's contract is up.

Posted: 12/22/09 at 10:07pmAlthough it is fantastic that he is a lead in any way, why did they choose to have a Tony alternate?

Jeremy Jordan should hang on with a Broadway contract to sing Tony two times a week and sit in a drissing room at the Palace
playing SODUKO.
No offence to Mr. Jordan, I have no idea who he is, but his voice must rock.

Who is going to be Constantine's backup now? Saw JJ playing it, and thought his singing voice was great, but he didn't look the part at all. The wig was terrible, and he had this super intense look the whole time, like he was going to kill somebody. Couldn't really sell the subtle jokes like Constantine either.
But really, the wig was gawd awful, like High School play bad.

Actually Jeremy said before he left ROA that he only has to be at the theatre Wednesdays and Saturdays.
He's not the stand by.
He's got a SWEET deal with WSS!

Geoff Packard is the new Drew/Franz understudy.
And Jeremy Jordan never takes that angsty look of his face. Ever.

Posted: 12/23/09 at 1:06pmHe didn't look angsty at all when I saw him on as Franz... honestly though his Drew wig was atrocious, they should have just let him play the role with short hair.

Posted: 12/26/09 at 6:06pmI hated the wig they gave him as Drew as well (though I thought he was great in the role). My friend pointed out that perhaps they wanted him to look like Constantine as much as possible so people wouldn't be disappointed and might not realize it wasn't Constantine. And indeed, the evening we saw him, the girls to our left were going on and on at intermission about how wonderful Constantine was.

Constantine is more believeable acting as Drew, sings better, looks better, dances cuter and commits to the role and production better. He's been awesome playing Drew with 5 or 6 different Sherries thus far.
