I was striked out, but based on the reviews (mostly on ATC) I've been reading, this looks like a loser...
I saw the reviews at ATC too ...
they said the only thing that's missing is MAGIC ! as in Nothing Magical happens-
ouch ! - I will see this show with my baby sister (who is a big fan of TLM cartoon) in January..
Here's that review

It is not a bad show at all. Definitely exchange your tickets for a different date, WaltSummersPI. I have seen it twice so far and loved it both times. Better to see the show for yourself and make your own opinion.
I saw it in Denver and really enjoyed it. If you have any desire to see it, then you should and forget what others say about it.
I saw the show 2nd day back after strike, and the show has great potential and some amazing actresses in Sherie and Sierra. But I have to agree with Jaystarr's summing it all up with it just doesnt have the magic and wow factor that Lion King, Aida, or BatB had (havent seen Poppins yet, and we won't talk about Tarzan). However, there are plenty of people that love it- Without a Trace being one of them! I say give it a show, at the very lest Sherie and Sierra are awesome!
I saw The Little Mermaid on its first day back after the strike and I have a different opinion on it. I really enjoyed the show and I think that Disney captured the "Disney Magic" quite nicely with this show. I experienced more Disney Magic in Mermaid than I did in The Lion King, Aida, OR Beast. Maybe it was because the energy level of the cast was way up because of the strike ending, but I had a lot of fun.
I definitely felt the magic.
No offense to you, mywonderwa11, but I think even the worst shows would have felt magical the day after the strike. That night was exhilerating.
Well, I saw it last night again and thought it was fantastic. It's worth seeing for the performances of Sherie Rene Scott and Tituss Burgess alone, and Sierra absolutely delivers in a role that I can imagine is very hard to nail.
I also followed the show's progress from Denver to Broadway and read all the posts and expected to see another lame TARZAN. What a great surprise it was to see for myself how much I enjoyed it. Yes there were some weak spots (all shows have these), but it worked its magic and sucked you in immediately. Just to see Sherie in that costume and the visuals (going from underwater to land) AND Eric's drowning is worth the ticket price.
Oh yeah. Then there's that Sierra gal. She's one of the main reasons the show works its magic on you.
Ya... I have heard more good about the show than bad.I have a friend of mine who is in the show... and I am SO excited for him that the show is going to do so well=-)

I have a recording of him singing "Make Like A Nail" from Trailer Park. It's pretty fierce.
BrodyFosse...I agree. The water effects with the ship and every time a character swims to the surface of the water it looks amazing. The show is visually stunning. And yes, when Prince Eric falls off the ship and drowns in the water...it is one of the coolest effects I've seen on the Broadway stage in a while. It looks incredible.
With the effects, the performances of Sierra, Sherie, and Tituss, and the colorful sets it makes for a very fun night at the theatre.
And WaltSummers...I know every show must have felt magical that night, but I was refering to the Disney magic that I lacked feeling when I saw the other Disney shows. I was just implying that maybe the strike ending caused a boost of energy to help bring that Disney magic to life. But I think I would have felt the Disney magic no matter when I saw this show.
Not at all !!! I loved it ! Is it perfect? No.. but extremely enjoyable. My wife saw it again last night, after seeing it right before the strike, and she said it was much better now. (and she liked it the 1st time)
Loved it last night !!
Said Sherie is just incredible !
