Rise And Fall Of The City Of Mahagonny won best Classical Album. And it says the artists are awarded.
Best Classical Album
(Award to the Artist(s) and to the Album Producer(s) if other than the Artist.)
Does this mean Patti LuPone is now a Grammy winner?

I would imagine so, but it's likely she might just get some sort of certificate rather than a literal statue.
Like she needs one of those lame Grammy awards anyway.
I think she is now a two time Grammy winner.
Mahagonny won two Grammys. one for Best Classical Album (which goes to the Artist(s) and to the Album Producer(s) if other than the Artist), and one for Best Opera Recording (Award to the Conductor, Album Producer(s) and Principal Soloists).
I didn't realize it won twice!
Wow.
there's not even a CD of it, is there? I'm still confused as to how the DVD can win.
Because anybody who's anyone has already ripped the audio to their ipod?
touche.
Michael Feingold (Village Voice theatre critic) is now a 2-time Grammy winner also (having translated the piece for LA Opera)
Don't forget Audra!
And from the way I read it, they get actual Grammy statues. Why wouldn't they?
am I the only one who is quite tickled by this? I mean, who would've thought that Patti LuPone would win not one, but two Grammys for an opera performance?
and yes, we all love Audra.
