I was worried since Buffalo Bill didn't start thread about it last night, that word of mouth had gotten the best of this show and they closed before I could see it!

The show's plot is so nonsensical it's not even given on it's Wikipedia page, which may be a first for a major Broadway musical. I suspect Sting is surrounded with only yes people.

Might we allow it to open before we have this conversation?

Sting is the Irish Joop- has tons of money and will pluck a lot down to keep it open.
Logistically, I don't see how it can continue to run after opening night cause if they say on opening night that this is THE LAST SHIP then they are done. No more ships after that night. And if there are no more ships after opening night, what do they do the next night... talk about who might win the big soccer game that weekend? Or they could be like that guy who says "This is my LAST PIECE OF CAKE" and then has 5 more pieces after that and hopes no one notices.

The show just started previews and is getting better every day, why do you have to trash a show that isn't even frozen? Is that productive, do you not have anything better to do?
lisa, you obviously are a troll and you know nothing about nothing which means you know even less than nothing. I was just worried about the show since Buffalo Wings Bill was silent and that can't be a good thing.
So go and spread your negativity elsewhere, "lisa", like that's even your real name you fake internet "lady".
"Might we allow it to open before we have this conversation?"
Have you learned nothing in your 3+ years here on BWW?
Sting is the Irish Joop
What is that?
The Danish producer, whats his name Joop
Oh, right.
Sting is English, though. His song "Englishman in New York" told me that.
Isn't he Russian, the song told me that as well

Joop is Dutch, who must have lost a ton on Rocky. English, irish, whatever- they are all alcoholics who hate each other.
"Sting is English, though. His song "Englishman in New York" told me that."
That song is about Quentin Crisp, though.

I agree, the show looks lousy. I wouldn't spend money on it in New York. The word of mouth was not all that good when it played here in Chicago, and I didn't bother seeing it here either, because the whole show looks lousy.
It is not OK, nor logical, to trash a show that has not played to an audience at all and is still in its conception. Once it plays to an audience it is time to start building buzz, whether it be positive or negative. If the producers wish to avoid this, then they need to avoid an out of town try-out and not bother with previews. Saying a show looks lousy is not harsh, and based on word of mouth, may very well be the majority opinion on this one. I don't expect this to do all that well, and I believe this will be Sting's second disappointment on Broadway. Maybe I will be proven wrong, and I hope I am, but I don't think it is likely.
Ok Bill just posted that the show is sold out for the next 6 months so it's NOT closing.
I was worried!
