Is Wonderful Town a good show too see?

I know, there are some people who don't like it. And that it's not doing too hot.

But i am interested in seeing the show. The Cast Recording is growing on me, and I'm gaining more interest in this show.

I am glad the grosses are improving, coz I would really hate to see this show close!

So what is your opinion on Wonderful Town, is it a good show? Should I see it?

it's ok its not great. its entertaining.

I loved Wonderful Town, with or without Donna, although I haven't seen Brooke Shields. The supporting cast is fantastic, so I would absolutely say you should see it. It's entertaining no matter what.

i guess this is a little heresy here but I saw it with the original cast, this past winter, and my son who is 21 and I both were completely bored. The songs were nothing special, the costumes were nothing special, the scenery was nothing special, it wasnt funny enough, it wasnt clever enough. The production dance numbers werent memorable. It just was boring.
The whole time I was watching the lady in front of me's Chanel outfit and thinking about dinner. Of course the guy who told me to go see it adored the show and promised me I would love it, and the theater was full, so maybe others liked it.
Maybe Brooke Schields will liven things up, but in all honesty it was one of the few shows that I really felt was a complete waste of time and money. Sorry.

My friend saw it last night, he said it was "cute". I dont know what that means, exactly, but... lol. He's seeing 42nd St tonight from the front row. I'm so jealous of him... lol

Although, if I went to NYC again, WT and 42S wouldnt be my choices lol

I hated it... 'nuff said.

I saw "Wonderful Town" 5 times with Donna Murphy and I loved it!!! I saw it with Linda and, while she tried her best, she was not right for the role. I don't know how Brooke is, but it might be worth seeing.

Ok guys, honestly, I've kept my mouth shut for a while now about this Donna Murphy bashing and I've finally had enough. I have and always will defend Donna Murphy and her situation. This quote proves to me what happened in "Wonderful Town" even though it doesn't spefically apply. To those people who feel she owes you an explantion...she doesn't!!! Its obviously a personal health related issue that is no one's but her own. I will say
one more thing. Over the years, she has mentioned many times "health related problems", from miscarriages to other issues (mentioned in this excerpt). You guys can say what you want but when and if she ever comes out with her issues publicly, if i were you, i'd feel guilty for bashing her all the time.

First, I just want to say that I did not mean for my post to insult Linda. Let me explain. I loved her voice!!! However, she was not right for the role of Ruth. First, she was too rough as Ruth. There is supposed to be a softness about Ruth that I felt she lacked. Ruth is supposed to have that caustic Roz Russell sense of humor, but there is a vulnerablility that we're supposed to see in her in "A Quiet Girl" and the reprise of "Ohio." Personally, I didn't see it. Also, I did not care for the way that she contorted her face at times. I would love to see her in a role that she is more suited to play!!! And, just out of curiosity, did you ever see Donna as Ruth?

Also, thank you GYPSY1527. I too am sick of the Donna bashing on all the message boards. She is not only a professional, but the most talented musical ACTRESS.

hey Ruth, just wanted to say that I also feel the same exact way you do. I saw the show with Donna four times and Linda once and didn't like her at all. In general, thanks guys for supporting me. When I say this stuff, I usually don't get supported and I appreciate it! :)
