I am a big Sci-FI nerd and I think a production of ALIEN or ALIENS could be completely innovative and something no one has ever seen before. Maybe not even make it a musical, Just a play? Thoughts?
Yes. Imagine how cool the spaceship could look onstage and I think with the right kind of Special effects it could look really cool. Remember, the first ALIEN movie had a guy in a suit playing the Xenomorph so with the right kind of lighting and effects I actually think it could be something very original.
Its a very unconventional idea but i think with the right vision for it it could be something astounding. Imagine seeing the eggs open onstage. Completely creepy and chilling!
Oh a song intitled "Boo!" when there is a flash reveal of the Alien in the duct work! "My Heart is Bursting with Joy!" at the dinner table! "Mmmmuhhhmmmm Mmmmmph!" The face hugger song!
Those Blocked: SueStorm. N2N Nate. Good riddence to stupid! Rad-Z, shill begone!
This remind me of Aliens on Ice. Pretty sure a musical of any of the Alien films would be all kinds of awful, but if they musicalize Alien: Ressurection they could go full-circle and have Joss Whedon do music/lyrics.
It's been done! Well, performed in concert format, at least. Scooty and Jojo developed the musical concert, Alien Queen. Act one is Alien and act two is Aliens, with the band playing all the characters and utilizing puppetry with a score set to the hits of Queen. I saw it in Chicago with our very our twinbelters (I wouldn't have known about the show if it weren't for him) performing in the chorus. It was a BLAST! There is probably a glimpse of me in the crowd in the video. Alien Queen

Interesting Footage Mister Matt. I guess my idea wasn't as unconventional as i thought :). Setting it to QUEEN wasn't exactly what i had in mind though...

I would like to see how it would play out, wouldn't like the idea though. Since we are talking about sci fi, were there ever talks of a Star Wars musical being created?
Matt, when I saw this title Alien Queen was my first thought. I did see Carpenters Halloween, though. For those who weren't there, it was a musical version of Halloween to the tunes of the Carpenters.
Star Wars was GOING to be a musical by Charles Strouse, and a demo recording of one or two songs is still floating around. The idea was abandoned, but two notable unofficial musicals have cropped up over the years:
One was a notorious high school production with parodies of songs from other shows, such as "Milennium Falcon" based on "Greased Lightning." It was bootlegged and attained some notoriety over the years.
The other was one of the first internet fan musicals, a complete musical based on A New Hope, which for a while had the web site domain "Star Wars The Musical."
Scoots and Jos also did a musical of Rosemary's Baby with the songs of Rosemary Clooney. Rosemary Clooney's Baby they called it.
Alien Queen was a fully produced musical at the club Circuit in Chicago before the runaway concert success of 2011/12. All of its incarnations were fabulous!
The other was one of the first internet fan musicals, a complete musical based on A New Hope, which for a while had the web site domain "Star Wars The Musical."
"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
