I am debating between 2 weekends to come up to NYC, easter or the weekend after.
The argument is since its a holiday weekend it tends to be busier however to counter this most people will be going to church and perhaps many easter performances will be rescheduled.

What do you mean by "rescheduled"?

I saw matinees of HELLO, DOLLY! for the two Easters it played on Broadway. There wasn't any difference in the performance schedule.

It is pretty much unheard of for Broadway shows to change their schedules for Easter. Even if people are going to church on Easter Sunday, most will be done in plenty of time for a 2 or 3pm matinee. That said, it is quite a busy time, especially the week after Easter. Most of March and April are busy to very busy on Broadway as everybody's spring break is on a different week.
I agree. I'd say Easter weekend (or any long weekend) tends to be a busy week/weekend for Broadway.
Yes, crowds will likely be large, but shows won’t be altering schedules. It’ll be business as usual.
