She was a FIFTEEN year old kid. And you don't see the power imbalance in a sexual relationship between a thirty-five year old actor and a fifteen year old high school sophomore? A "Broadway Star" was paying attention to her and her head was probably spinning. Perhaps, when she matured a little, and realized that there was no relationship and that she had been used for sex, she decided to address it.
If it happened, no matter whether it was consensual or not, it was illegal and it was up to him as the adult draw the line. No sympathy here. I'm fairly sure that if he needed to be serviced, he could have found someone a few years older who would have been thrilled to participate.

That is one of the funniest things I have read on the boards...you made my day!

Posted: 7/13/06 at 3:08pmiflitifloat, I agree with you. But unfortunately there are those who just can't help themselves when it comes to these matters. And of course, that does not make it right. It is just sad.

You are right, we don't know yet whether or not they are "facts." He is innocent until proven guilty.

Posted: 7/13/06 at 5:22pmand before we get too far into this, let's clarify that Sodomy, in a legal context, does not necesarily mean the same thing as it does in a social Context. (what i mean is the Legal Definition of Sodomy is different from the social connotation of the word).

Of course, my cynical side is laughing at the sentence "It was not clear why the woman, now an aspiring actress, waited so long to come forward."
Considering rape victims' names aren't released, bringing this charge against him will do nothing to bring attention and advance her career.

Even if it did give out her name... how would it advance her career?
I know if I was a casting director, I would certainly think, "Hey, if she was banged by James Barbour, she MUST be talented!"
