Is it to bad to own multiple cast recordings? For instance, I have 4 recordings of Les Miserables, and my parents were shocked.

Are they of different casts?
My friend, I've found a good link for you:

Not only is it bad, but in some states it's illegal!
Of course it's not bad. We all have more than one recording of some show or other.
Not any worse than seeing the same show 40 or 50 times
The answer to your question is no
Yes, it's very bad. In fact, once I hit the double digits of Les Miz cast recordings, my parents kicked me out and I had to go live in a shed with nothing but a sleeping bag and a CD player.
As long as you had your cd's & player you are ok

It's definitely OK.
But it's entirely illegal to buy both the movie soundtrack and the cast recordong.
Why would that be bad?
I thought you were arrested after three!
It's fine. Just remember that when you are grown up you will not be able to buy recordings in the manner to which you have become accustomed. You will have to use money for less important things like food and rent.
Well Kean, you can make yourself a little house with the cast recordings and then eat the booklets.
First, Chino, Happy Birthday a few days early!
Second, there's nothing wrong with owning multiple recordings. Nothing at all.
Enjoy!
Parents should be shocked, and regularly. Congratulations! Now go out and buy a 5th Les Mis recording for your birthday!
No.
Sondheim Geek - if the remastered Sondheim booklets are anything to go by, we could be starving to death. I guess we could buy multiple copies of the new COMPANY (if we haven't already), because that has a feast of a booklet including libretto!
You know that most people on this board will be biased about this...
But no, it's not bad to own more multiple cast recordings. Even if they're of the same show, they usually sound different. I have 5 recordings of Rent, and 4 of them are in languages I can't understand.
I have at least 2 cast recordings of most musicals I know. Usually in different languages or countries or revivals or whatnot.
And I have eaten the booklets.

If you outlaw cast recordings, only outlaws will have cast recordings. As Charlton Heston once said, "you can have my "Anyone Can Whistle" cast recording when you pry it from my cold dead fingers."
First, thank you to everyone who said Happy Birthday! and yes, I might just ask them to buy me a new cast recording!
Second, thanks for replying to my question. I told my parents, they would not understand it unless they got a chance to listen to all my CD's or if we have the same interest, which eveidently, we dont.
A BIG THANKS again to everyone, you guys are the best!
GOD BLESS!
Whew. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who eats the booklets.
Nothing wrong with it.
