...resend to Sherie Rene Scott? I sent her a letter at the end of May (about 8 weeks ago) and still haven't gotten a response. Would it be rude to send her another letter (not addressing that she didnt send me anything back) but just basically saying the same stuff I said in the first one? Thanks.
Wait, if you don't want something back why do you need to write her again? You just sent you good wishes and thanks for an enjoyable performance. That is the end of it. Or DO you expect something back?
Honestly I doubt she would notice that the two letters were from the same person, I have never met her so this is not a dig on her personality, but I know I wouldn't remember if I got two letters from the same person I don't know 8 weeks apart.
I do want something back but I was just saying that if I do resend something to her, I'm not going to say something like "I sent you a letter before and still havent gotten anything" as that would be rude.
But then again if you don't reference it and she sends you something in response to your first letter AFTER you have sent the second and then she gets the second and remembers sending you something in response to the first she will be all pissed off and think you are an ebay scammer and tell all her friends on Broadway and your name will be mud.
I dont expect anything back and I understand she's very busy but I was just wondering because most of the people I know who have written to her got somethign back in three weeks or less. Sheesh.
Maybe it was less obvious that they wanted something. Or maybe you said something that indadvertantly insulted her. I am not saying you would ever say something on purpose to insult her. Just by accident I mean.
I think you are fine doing it, i think if she hasn't written back in this long she just forgot or something. Plus I don't think they have like an alert system telling her broadway freinds thta you are an e-bay scammer for writing her just twice.
I swear I didn't get those PMs. I don't mind those sorts of requests at all. It's when they stop asking, THAT'S when I'll mind. I'm sure Sherie Rene Scott feels the exact same way. Unless she thinks she's being scammed.
I suppose it depends on what you've asked her for - a signed photo should be easy enough (esp. if you've enclosed a self-addressed stamp envelope).
I have never sent one of these fan letters, but in the grand scheme of things, Broadway performers are low on the celebrity food chain and I can't imagine she gets an avalanche of fan mail. (Compared to say, Nicole Kidman). She's got a lot of down time in the dressing room and would have a chance to relax and sign stuff.
Why would you think she has extra time to fill requests for autographs? She has 8 shows a week and a child to raise.
"For me, THEATRE is an anticipation, an artistic rush, an emotional banquet, a jubilant appreciation, and an exit hopeful of clearer thought and better worlds."

Wickedrocks- I sent to her a couple months ago and haven't gotten anything. I'm starting to think that the Imperial does a big sendout or something. Not sure..
I just don't think you should ever expect anything from a celebrity. If you want to send them a congratulatory note, that's one thing, but to expect a response isn't really warrented.
A lot of film stars are advised by their publicists/agents to never respond to ANY fan mail. There have been so many instances of celebrity stalkings of late, I can't blame them.
I always wonder, why do you need a physical object to recall an experience? What possible object would a star send you for free that is better than the memory of their performance?
Well, I take that back. After a particularly moving experience seeing Irene Ryan in Pippin, I waited outside the stage door, knocked her down and stole her purse. God, that was great!
