I have a Playbill from 1986 where the logo is in blue. I thought it was always yellow - am I wrong?
It's always yellow.
It was green for WICKEDs fifth anniversary, however.

"It is always yellow" is a different statement from "It wasn't always yellow." Playbill has gone through many different designs throughout its history.

It's not a Showbill, it's definitely a Playbill - I have lots of them from the 80s and this is the only one I've ever seen that's blue. Do you know when they started using yellow exclusively?
The Playbill logo is traditionally yellow. What show was it in blue for?
Some time between 1973 & 1974 they switched to the current logo (yellow and block letters) from the groovy late-60's swoopy script (that took up a larger portion of the front cover)

It's the same lettering as now - it's for "Olympus On My Mind" in 1986.

I am not sure why it is blue, but is this it?

Yes, that's it. Is that your ebay ad?

Was it Off Broadway? I wonder if shows not on Broadway were a different color? Just an uneducated guess.

For a very brief time (I think it was in the 70's), PLAYBILL had a striped, circus-like logo. If I'm not mistaken, the magazine was a tad bit bigger during that period.
