I know wikipedia isn't the best souce sometime but I can tell when the Info is accurate and when it's not because I also look at other sources but is this true? it's listed that adam shankman is directing a new remake of BYE BYE BIRDIE coming out in 2011 but if so I'm excited.

Well IMDB is saying it also. But that isn't a very reliable source either.

Posted: 5/9/09 at 11:29amI got an e-mail a few months back from...I think Round House or one of the many news letters I subscribe too, that said a revival of Bye Bye Birdie will indeed be opening. Don't remember the exact date but I do recall Jon Stamos mentioned to be starring in it and it made me very excited! Ha. I'll see if I still have the e-mail to find the info.

I'd heard that a new movie was being considered.
The revival starts September 09.

Its the Roundabout Theatre Company -- not Round House or something.
The 2009 Broadway revival of BYE BYE BIRDIE begins previews at Henry Miller's Theatre on Broadway on September 10, 2009. The revival stars John Stamos, Gina Gershon, Bill Irwin and Jayne Houdyshell.

Posted: 5/9/09 at 2:21pmI think I remember hearing about this as well. It probably is just in the talking stage right now. That doesn't mean it will or will not happen. And this happens all the time with movies.

Posted: 5/9/09 at 2:40pmI remember reading initial articles about them updating the story to a contemporary setting (I dunno how that would've worked). So far no one has said anything else, it's prolly on the backburner until Hairspray 2 gets up and moving.
