"It's All Happening" is such a catchy song!

Lin-Manuel Miranda is like the new Sondheim of the 21st Century! His musical abilities/talents and slick vocabulary are just crazy-awesome!

"Yo whats the name of this song?? Never heard this on any radio station before but i likes this!" haha

Boy was she shocked to find out it was from a broadway show :P It's on his ipod now :)

You ROCK Lin! <3

You have GOT to be joking, right? I don't know how anyone in their right mind could even think about the two composers being on the same level.

I liked it the first time when it was called "Blackout" and it was in IN THE HEIGHTS.

The chorus is catchy I guess, but the rest of it is kind of forgettable. I prefer In The Heights over Bring It On anyway.

Eh, "Everybody's a critic" Lol ... I mean this show REALLY was made to mostly draw in a younger audience/different kind of audience instead of your normal traditional musical theatre crowd.

I really don't understand why some individuals want to knock down Bring It On so much. Most people who have done so never seen the show in full. Yeah few refer to the corny films but it is a different story line with different characters with "Elements" from selected films of the Bring It On series. There have been stories of people that thought BIO was going to be horrible and lame but after the first number ended ("Born To Do") /or at the end of Act I their whole perspective changed and were in awe of how surprisingly 'Whitty' and great the show actually is.

Personally I'm a huge musical theatre appreciator so even if theres a show I'm not a big fan of I'll still give my respects to the show and it's creative team for their hard work put into it. "You like what you like". and yeah i think Lin is the new Sondheim of the 21st century - Mr. Sondheim himself went to see Bring it On and meet with Lin and the cast etc after the show. Lin-Manuel Miranda has a wide unique vocabulary that stands out from most songs of shows i've heard.

I really see nothing wrong with "Bring it On: The Musical" ... seems like every time a musical comes out thats based on some movie or TV show some people get all annoyed about it being a musical stage adaptation. It's just entertainment :)
Bring it On must be a dang good show for it to have been nominated for 3 Tony's. That says a lot i think :)

Let's not be afraid to step outside of our comfort zone of traditional musical theatre and "Cross the Line" exploring other avenues of bringing in NEW audiences/theatre goers It's All Happening is awesome!

Oh, please. Most of the folks on this board see a huge percentage of the shows that open. It has nothing to do with bringing in new audiences....it has to do with making money.

I don't know a single person that enjoyed this. And I know plenty that saw it. (I did not, and therefore have no opinion on it.)

I like Lin. I enjoyed In the Heights. However, one successful show, does not an icon make.

And he really can't be the Sondheim of any century -- considering Sondheim is still alive and creating.

Loved the show. The music was fine. I played a few tracks constantly including the one discussed here. However, I would not put Miranda in a class with Sondheim. True there are traces of repeated melodies that pop up in Songs songs, but I found myself singing BLACKOUT to this song while seeing the show. It was pretty blatant. Still like it though. jmo

You need to give me a break, theatredude90. Because people don't like BIO and think the songs are derivative of songs that Lin Manuel has already written that means we just love "knocking it down."

I can pretty much guarantee you that there are plenty of people here than see more theatre than you do. I, myself, go to shows at several festivals throughout the year, see pretty much everything on Broadway and as many Off-or Off-Off-Broadway shows as I can. I appreciate things that are good, not things that are trying solely to appeal to a younger audience.

BIO just wasn't good. There are a few good moments but the show is just kind of boring. The fact that it's a completely different storyline actually pissed me off because it felt like cheating to use the BIO brand and then create something with the only similarity being that it's cheerleading in California.

I can appreciate shows and even if I don't like them I try to see if there are aspects that people would enjoy. I don't use Tony nominations as a marker of how good something is because plenty of crap has been nominated for Tonys. Please refrain from getting too high on your horse and using generalities for people's opinions.

^^^ What ClydeBarrow said. The show just doesn't suit me, and just because the show earned Tony nominations doesn't guarantee that it's good. It's all about personal interest.

Truee, all of you have good points. Not being super defensive/ argumentative, just was saying that it's a fun show. Some will like it, some won't and i'll just be more specific on the sondheim part ... I wouldnt say Lin is the new Sondheim of the 21st Century, I would say Lin is unique and tricky/creative with his lyrics like Sondheim like one person on here mentioned: he has some similarities.

Fans love it so we can't really do anything about that lol 2nd national tour starts January 2014 and that fan made movie coming out soon, havent heard a premier date for that yet but am anxious to see their version :)

I saw the show twice and really enjoyed it for what it was and appreciated that it didn't try to be more. But, I'm going to have to echo what most are saying...
