The cast looks so good and my daughter would love to see Rupert Grint. Is the show okay for an 11 year old? Just wondering if I should get tickets now or wait and see if they offer any discounts. Any guesses if this will be a hot ticket?

Posted: 7/21/14 at 7:30pmIt's gonna be a hot ticket. The cast basically makes it critic proof. Buy a ticket now. I'm 99% sure there won't be a discount.

It will be a hot ticket. Did you see the LIST of famous names in the cast?
It's possible there will be a "early bird" discount code for the preview period, but don't hold your breath.

Posted: 7/21/14 at 7:32pmThere's nothing in the synopsis of the story that makes it seem inappropriate for an 11 year old, but hard to say for sure. Telecharge does say "May be inappropriate for 12 and under."

Thanks for the replies! Looks like I will get tickets now. Even if the show is just okay I know my daughter will enjoy seeing Rupert Grint. She has already seen Daniel Radcliffe.
Reminds me of when my Dad got us tickets to see Chris Reeve in The Fifth of July way back when I was a girl and huge Superman fan. Still remember that show and how much it really made me love Broadway.

Posted: 8/4/14 at 11:48pmAs always, the prices for preview tickets are slightly cheaper than the regular tickets ....so I just got tickets the day the box office opened for one of the last previews, assuming the show would probably be set at that time.

I would take your kit to see "You Can't Take It With You" instead of "It's Only a Play."
Both have stellar casts, but You Can't Take It With You is one of those plays that make you love the theatre, while "It's Only a Play" is a rather jaded account of the negatives that the Theatre provides.

Posted: 8/6/14 at 8:48pmTo Ziggy: Both have super ensembles but I will only be attending "You Can't Take It with You", and not "It's Only A Play". I will not be attending "It's Only A Play" because I fear and anticipate hearing the name "Justin Bieber" on stage and after that I might never see a Broadway show again.

I doubt they could mention Bieber, since the play seemingly has to exist before reviews were posted earlier on the Internet, and not people waiting for the printed newspaper to deliver them... so, pre-Internet is automatically pre-Bieber.
Of course, if you go around typing about Bieber because you dislike him so much, it seems like you're the one typically bringing Bieber into the conversation and then complaining that everywhere you go people talk about Justin Bieber, and how wrong it is that he is famous, and so sad because you love, err, I mean hate him so so much...

If you're knowledgeable about the revival version, you can answer the all-important question: Is Justin Bieber mentioned?

Posted: 8/7/14 at 10:34amI went to the box office the other day hoping for inexpensive box seats. (On Telecharge under the "offers" tab, it says that box seats will be sold only at the box office. So I thought, hey, maybe they're selling $27 box seats, as Twelfth Night did.) But, alas, no, at least not presently.

OP here...
Thank you ZiggyCringe for the reply, very good point!
But I think my daughter would be okay with the negatives of the show, and it may be good for her to see.
She had been going to Broadway since she was 4 (now almost 12)and loves it! She wants to be an actor, it would be good for her to see it's not all about fun.
thanks all!
