I've had a very long week. I saw Spring Awakening (which was brilliant) and Carousel (which was entertaining in spite of itself) on Wednesday, and I'm off to Leicester to check out the Curve tomorrow. The Pillowman in the afternoon, and As You Like It in the evening! I think I have a problem.

Ahh i used to get so stressed over Art and was like right im not taking art a level ra ra ra. And now i miss it soo much! i wish i had taken it, but hey ho!

That's really good! I had to finish this mental painting over the holidays, I did a minimum of 4 hours a day! If I get it back I'll take a picture =)

I didn't become interested in History until after I left school. At school we got edited highlights - a bit of Anglo Saxons, a bit of industrial revolution, a bit of WWI - it didn't make sense. But when you understand it chronologically without gaps and how it shapes our society today it suddenly becomes relevant and interesting.

That's the one that was on at The National in the 80's right? The one with the male rape?

I'm sure a bit of man on man fun woudl get me interested in History...which i suppose is the reason why i did Classical Civilisation, the study of ancient greeks and romans. They loved a bit of guy love :)

I used to teach history - for 18 years until I decided to get out of teaching while I still had my sanity. LOL

Oh please don't remind me of one of Wicked's many cringeworthy one-liners: "why don't you just teach us history instead of always harping on the past?" Has anyone ever been at a performance where that joke has landed? I for one certainly haven't

I like history to a degree; I definitely want to know what happened, and I somewhat want to know why, but I fear getting bogged down in intricate detailed analysis. That's why I like older history; it's complicated, but in a much less complicated way than it is now. ;D Plus, y'know, finding interesting ways to engage with various historical time periods doesn't hurt either...

i had a good hsitory teacher in year 7...one of the best teachers ive ever had. but then we just got **** ones, and i lost interest.
