I saw it at the Sheffield Crucible about three years ago.
The play was poor and the historical analogies were weak.
The rape scene was done with predator and victim about two feet apart so as to be innoffensive and very PC.
But the bit where the Roman soldiers took off their armour and did some exercises was very interesting.

To be fair, I think every performance of Wicked I've seen the 'bla bla history bla bla harping on about the past' line has gone down well, it may just be Dianne Pilkington's delivery because she can milk any line and make it funny, I do however find it a bit cringe worthy haha.
On a side note, I feel pretty rough after last night and seriously considering cutting out vodka from my diet. I need something to soak it up, but theres bugger all in the flat
