No sign of it on that other site, thought I'm sure some clips will turn up before long. The night I was there someone was taking photographs from the third level and forgot to turn their flash off (tsk tsk).

I felt like I held my breath during the entire song...

I didn't breath at all at the end when exited so slowly...I was awestruck! So good!

Okay, enough reminiscing...I have to go to sleep!

I don't think I had a gayer moment in my life than when that curtain rose up to reveal her in that white dress and Rita Hayworthy [sic] wig. I think I actually gasped.

I started clutching PalJoey'sPal's knee at the first strains of the song in the Prologue called "All Things Bright and Beautiful."

And I wept for the first time when Michael McGrath started singing "Waiting Around for the Girls Upstairs."

It's rather heartening to know that people who saw the original enjoyed the concert as well. It gives those of us who couldn't be there the first time a little more cred. Lord knows at least we been there.

When I went to the dress on Thursday I did not hear a word that Donna Murphy said during Lucy and Jessie. I was just fascinated by her legs and I couldn't take my eyes off them. I did literally gasp when they raised the curtain after Losing My Mind.

During the applause for "Buddys Blues" and right before "Losing My Mind" I think was the first time I took my eyes off the stage for a second to whisper to my friend "This is it."

I only teared up at 2 parts, the first being when Sally comes in during "Too Many Mornings" and the last being the line of them exiting the theater and the ghosts all walking into formation facing them and reciting those famous last lines. What a breathtaking moment.

It sounds like the integrity of the original production was maintained yet there were new and complex takes on the characters. I really respect that. (Plus having someone like Donna Murphy who can truly sing must have been marvelous...with all due respect to Alexis Smith.)

re: JV92 Sees Follies- Saturday Afternoon

All right, I'm about to get a little gayer.

Last night, while walking back from the aforementioned Donna Murphy sighting, PalJoey and I passed a synagogue that featured this on its sign. And yes, I know it's not spelled the same way, but we were just tickled to death by it anyway.

Weren't the original lyrics "Lucy wants to be Jessie and Jessie wants to be kosher?" I'm pretty sure they were.

First time I cried was when Donna Murphy sang: "Could I leave you?...Yes." It was the most heart-breaking reading of that line that I had ever heard, it completely got to me. And of course once Victor Garber (who did have a congestion but still sang marvelously and looked as sexy as usual) started singing "Too many mornings waking and pretending I reach for you..." the tears did not stop.

"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

aughh i am so sad that they won't be recording this! i cannot get over how amazing the production was! it's like i'm OBSESSED and i can't stop talking about it! my poor roommate has heard me a bazillion times discuss it!

my tearjerkers were with: "Waiting for the Girls Upstairs" and "Losing My Mind". Victoria's voice really brought Sally home for me and completely fascinated me. Also JoAnne Worley needs to get her butt back on Broadway. that lady was AMAZING!

I'll bet you anything it DOES get recorded. Just a hunch re: JV92 Sees Follies- Saturday Afternoon

I've said it before and I'll say it again: JoAnne Worley as Beth Leavel's replacement!

I'll probably be getting the recording sometime next week re: JV92 Sees Follies- Saturday Afternoon

And JoAnne Worley replacing Beth Leavel would even get me to go see DROWSY again.

i rarely see shows twice but i might definitely consider it if JoAnne Worley were to replace Beth!
