Interesting. I could see him being good in this...

Akiva him as freddy would be wonderful. I would pair him with Kelsey Grammar and thus a remake of the movie musical would work.

Whoever said a FIORELLO revival -- clever idea, with Black. He could be charming, and leave the eye-rolling at home. Why not? He'd also be good in THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG -- but way, THEY'RE PLAYING OUR SONG ain't that good. Still, he could be effective in the Klein role.

I know TPOS is not the greatest show but I always thought a revival of that show with Martin Short would have been fun....
"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around."

When Chris Fitzgerald leaves that show, it will close. He has been the brightest star from the start. Megan and Andrea did a wonderful job, but their roles were relatively small. Roger never did it for me, although I did not think the show was awful. It isn't great, but far from being a flop.

I totally agree with you mc1227, when Chris leaves, it will go downhill, unless they get someone really good or a big name to replace him. Every time i've seen it, he steals the show. he's absolutely amazing and no one can replace him. i think Roger is great too, but he can't do much with his part like he could in The Producers.

Christopher Fitzgerald was fantastic in Young Frankenstein, and I can't imagine anyone doing the role as well as he.

That being said, the show will not close when he leaves. He's hardly the reason it's staying open right now. He's not a name, and no one outside of this board knows who he is. The general public is not saying, "Let's go see Christopher Fitzgerald in Young Frankenstein!"

thats true, he's really not a big name. he's the reason i go to see it, but i'm sure it's not for most people. lol

Oh Joe. Someone's a little cranky because TDH never showed up for his dinner party him and Dolly threw. I heard he spent hours in the feedle position in the dumpster outside his house.

And I remember the day after seeing the Tonys in 2005 (before seeing the musical or hearing the cast recording) I posted on IMDB saying that Jack Black should play him in a movie musical.
