Is there another factor at work here, such as whether Broadway actors get accrued vacation time that they might not have taken during the past year, which they would have to pay them out for with a lump sum after the show closed? So, instituting a week of vacation becomes better for the balance sheet, with reduced operational costs and dumping all that vacation pay off the ledger, rather than them making far less money for a Jackie week AND keeping all that vacation time on the books?
I work in the tech industry, so instituted vacation weeks are the norm, or else a lot of nerds would never take any vacation time... and it is done to get all of that vacation time, which has to be accounted for separately, off the books (or greatly reduced)...

At my last company, employees are required to take a 1.5-month sabbatical after the first 10 years of work, eating into their accumulated vacation days. This was in the legal department, not sure about the other depts. But vacation days aren't converted at that company, rather they rollover annually up to a max amount and then the employee starts to lose them, so I don't really know why they enforce a sabbatical. Do Broadway contracts include a vacation payout after X number of shows? I'd never experienced that in prior work.

Yes, this was noted in the Idina-Oscars thread that Jackie was on Sunday and will be on tonight; Sunday was planned in secret, but I don't think tonight was planned...
If the Academy Awards producers had any creativity (but let's face it, Meron/Zadan are on the fence…) they'd have Idina and John Travolta present Best Song together which would necessitate Idina missing a Sunday matinee in February. Probably won't happen, but should!
I love being able to tell the future! Are Meron/Zadan reading my posts?
