Posted: 8/2/05 at 9:26amWell I for one hope this rumor is ANYTHING but the truth. Jai is one of the most annoying actors on stage...not to mention the way he is on Queer Eye! (Ugh!) Unknowns is the way to go for A CHORUS LINE - Producers just build it right, WE WILL COME!

Posted: 8/2/05 at 11:42amI'm with magruder on this as well. I think he would make a horrible Paul. Not only is he vocally not right for that role I seriously doubt he could dance it. I'm not gonna even talk about the acting aspect of it. That is one helluva a monologue to get through, believe me I know! I'm not saying that I think he is untalented but he just isn't right for that part or that show.

Can he dance? I mean REALLY dance? Paul is supposed to be one of the best dancers on the stage (remember Zach compliments him on his dancing right before the monologue). Somehow I don't think Rodriguez is elite enough for that.
While he's a decent enough actor and singer (I've seen him in a couple of shows), I truly hope this is a false rumor.

Wow. Harsh.
But I don't believe they will cast a known (or somewhat known) name in this show, perhaps with the exception of Cassie. It kind of defeats the purpose of the show, doesn't it?
And as Margo said, Paul must dance extremely well, plus be able to pull off one of the best (and best known) monologues. I don't think they'd go with Jai.

Posted: 8/2/05 at 2:17pmI don't think it's possible for Jai to be cast. Bob Avian has an immense amount of pride for this show, and when he says they're going to cast unknowns, it will be cast with unkowns, not B-level stars from Bravo. Though I love Jai, he's wrong for Paul.

If yer going with unknowns (and i think they should)
Everyone but Cassie and Zack should be Newbies
and Shelia should have some "experience"
I think Nancy Lemanger would be great as Cassie
and Rachelle Rak would rock as Shelia!
