re: Jamie Foxx and Usher Join Dreamgirls Film

Silent, I agree that we will never see eye-to-eye but I welcome the opinions of others. I enjoy healthy debate.

And as for my list, well the list has 29 I believe so, that gives some leverage for those who you may feel are questionable. As I stated before, my assessment was based on many diffrent things. For example, Deb could sing Mya underneath the table, but Mya has more star quality and fits well next to Beyonce. Also, my statement was that those that I listed deserve parts before Deborah. Not necesarily as one of the 3 Dreams. I meant being in the film.

And mind you, so far the cast is just as I predicted it would be. I've been contemplating this movie cast and posting about it since the old broadway.com boards. Jamie, Usher, and Beyonce is what I said. So, I think I have a better handle on what the producers are looking for and what will work.

leomax, Taye is too old to play CC and Jamie's voice is wrong for Jimmy (and it's not a stretch to see him in this role.) The Eddie Murphy choice is throwing me for a loop, but I guess they are really playing up the has been aspect of Jimmy's character.

I am vey happy that they chose Jamie Foxx to play Curtis. He a good singer and phenomonal actor. I also think that Usher would make a good C.C. I hope they don't cast Eddie Murphey as Jimmy. I'm sure he could act the part but his voice is totaly wrong. I'm not sure how old Jimmy is supposed to be but I think Eddie Murphey is too old. I do agree that Fantasia would make the perfect Lorell. She has the high shrill voice and she has a kinda of hood realism to her that seems to be thcharacter Lorell.

I wish Taral Hiks would make a comeback...and be more succesful at it. Not only was she great in Belly, but, her performance in Subway Stories was so moving. How could anyone not love her???
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

Truth,
Taral just did a movie with Vivica Fox called "The Salon".

Well I'll be dammned! Who the hell are these people delievering this information. First they call C.C a choreographer, then they say Usher is not in it at all1 I'm quite upset. I hope he does sign on.

re: Jamie Foxx and Usher Join Dreamgirls Film

I heard ashanti is being considered for a role. I hope that is false. They do a nationwide search for effie but ashanti can get in. What the hell is going on!

I wish that people would do their research before they publish an article. Jeez, what ever happened to journalistic integrity. C.C. is not Deena's boyfriend for God's sake!

LOL! I wish Bill Condon would say something because I have heard all types of stuff. This is retarded. What the hell is eddie Murphy going to do.

re: Jamie Foxx and Usher Join Dreamgirls Film

The idea of making C.C. a choreographer in the first place seems odd. It's not like the black singing groups of the 60s were known for their fancy footwork. Hopefully they don't have it in their head to have modern dancing in the past.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

I just finished reading this whole insipid thread. As usual the majority of you weighing in with "opinions" are clueless. I'd rather discuss this with people that actually know what they are talking about.

I may be wrong in this, as my memory isn't that great - but didn't C.C. choreograph their moves for the Apollo Contest?
