I wonder how different the show would have been had Jane not had her commitment to 30 Rock. Did anyone see the workshop or hear any recordings?

I have no input on the topic, but I just wanna say her name always makes me think of Mike Wazowski from the movie "Monster Inc."

Krakowski was originally slated to star in the show as Kira/Clio, yes. The show announced an Off-Broadway run and then a Broadway run with Krakowski heavily rumored to star in both productions, ultimately 30 ROCK was renewed and she, somewhat surprisingly, decided not to stay with XANADU. The creators decided to go on with the run after she dropped out. Douglas Carter Beane has said he was very surprised she decided not to go on with it, but it was clear when 30 ROCK was renewed that she wasn't gonna be able to juggle both things at the same time. I really hope she dedicates her career to stage, she's so great.

There was an industry rumor at the time that Krakowski decided not to move forward with the show because she thought it would be a flop and didn't want to be associated with that. Is there any truth to that, or was it simply that she couldn't juggle both a performance schedule and 30 Rock?
