I saw her in Sondheim’s BOUNCE. RIP.
She starred in the movie musical, SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS with Howard Keel, too.

Royal Wedding is a comfort favorite film of mine. RIP, lovely lady.
In 1966, I took my mother to see Jane Powell in a touring company production of "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" at a Salt Lake City theater in the round. Miss Powell was wonderful, and the audience very enthusiastic. A pleasant evening. Two weeks later, I left for U.S. Navy Boot Camp and my military career.
Here are Jane Powell and Jeanette MacDonald in "Three Daring Daughters", One of my favorite movie musical moments.
This is my all-time favorite film of hers: 1957’s delicious THE GIRL MOST LIKELY. Choreographed by Gower Champion and featuring Kaye Ballard as her best friend Marge.
Fun Fact: Carol Channing was offered the role of Marge but turned it down as it wasn’t the lead.
