Jordan, you are just racist.
I do love the bizarre miniature car they are driving though!

That was fun, that Japanese Bonnie can sure wash a dish quickly.
I doubt the set is "scaled down" These productions tend to be huge, the jail cell was massive.
A serious question; I know they spend a lot of money on the actual Asian productions (I worked on one) but how does Frank make so much yen? Beside his royalty fee, where does he make the dough? Or the original producers?(that's a question for you philly)

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I've never seen a musical in another language. How does translating a musical work? I feel like the translation inherently makes some of the lyrics lose puns, rhyming, and cleverness that obviously aren't the same across languages. Are there substantial rewrites? I assume there have to be, right?
I'm sure it'll be a hit given Wildhorn's huge international appeal.

So Short Order World is back in the show now?
Hmmm... sounds like it. Also, "I'm Ready" is back instead of "Raise A Little Hell."

Well basically, the original lyric is translated by a translator lyricist and those new lyrics are then translated back to the original lyricist for approval on meaning/context. Depending on the project it can be a collaborative process or not at all. Great care is taken to make it all work the way it was intended.

I really enjoyed this. I love seeing musicals that I am familiar with in other languages. It's so awesome that there is a life for this show, even though they didn't do well on Broadway.
Also, the actress who plays Bonnie in this production is Hamada Megumi, who was the original Elphaba in the Tokyo production of Wicked.

"How come she's blonde again?"
The real Bonnie Parker was a natural blonde who tinted her hair red, which gave it a strawberry blonde appearance and came out dark in black-and-white photography. She often topped it with a hat, usually a beret. But that hairstyle is right out of the movie; Bonnie wore the Marcel Wave that was popular at the time.
The dress, however, is a recreation of Bonnie's most famous outfit. She wore it for a series of photographs that were later published in newspapers and wanted posters, including the infamous cigar and revolver shot.
