Jordangirl - I think the one you bought was the OBCR with Robert Cuccioli, Christine Noll, and Linda Eder

re: Jekyll and Hyde Cast Recording?

that's what the OBCR looks like.

Whatever you do, stay away from the DVD!

get the 94 recording with Warlow, a much better and Scarier Hyde, IMO, and better voices all around. the OBC was a huge let down for me after knowing the 94' recording so well.

I think it's worth it for Andrea Rivette and Coleen Sexton alone. Just fast forward past the Hoff parts. re: Jekyll and Hyde Cast Recording?

I highly recommend the one with Anthony Warlow and Linda Eder. I love this recording and when I first received it I put it on with headphones and listened to it straight through, very entertaining, like listening to a movie. Anthony's voice is incredible, seriously, this man is so gifted. Plus, I much prefer these original lyrics, much more intelligent... they made a lot of changes for broadway (kind of dumbed it down in my opinion).

That's true, Ravioli. Sexton is phenomenal.

The entire Broadway cast of J&H is phenomenal on the DVD. Don't let Hasselhoff get you down.

Get the OBC before the 1994 concept cast. Purely because I love thr 1994 concept CD so much that I can hardly listen to the OBC. WHY did they cut 'I Need To Know'? ;_;

The music circus production was just WOW! They did an amazing job, I esp. loved the staging of the train station scene and the final confronation!

I would say get the 2-CD 1994 recording. It is the best representation of the material and Warlow's voice is fantastic. I was lucky enough to see that version of the show pre-Broadway with Cuccioli and it was sensational. Too bad it never ended up on Broadway or it would probably still be running. The orchestrations and choral arrangements are worth getting the Broadway recording and I believe having both is necessary. I can't listen to the Resurrection recording. I just can't take those electric guitars. I understand the concept Wildhorn was going for, but to me, it sounds like an unnecessary intrusion on the material.

The Broadway version of the show was a mess. Definitely get the complete album with Warlow. Whatever problems there are in the orchestrations are more than made up for with Warlow's performance. And, yes, it has Carolee Carmello.

Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

The one with Warlow, definitely, if you have to get one. But I would really get the OBCR too if you get the chance

The Viennese cast recording (in German) is also great!
