re: OLEANNA to transfer in the Fall?

I saw this first preview and really didn't like it. Stiles phones it in. It lacks the electricity necessary for this play.
re: Megan Hilty shines in 9 to 5 (review- 4/18 8 PM)

Well said, West Village.
re: Megan Hilty shines in 9 to 5 (review- 4/18 8 PM)

I was hoping the list on IBDB was wrong. One of my favorite numbers was cut, and I'm very disappointed. This happened with 13, too. The final version of the LA production was pretty great, and then they "fixed" it, and it tanked in NY.
re: Megan Hilty shines in 9 to 5 (review- 4/18 8 PM)

Can someone post a song list? I want to see what was cut/altered from when it was in LA.
re: '...I SPEAK SIX LANGUAGES'

LOVE it.
re: For us Patti LuPone fans!

That was stunning. Thanks so much.
re: Megan Hilty in '9 to 5' and 'Wicked'

"Isn't it the same director or something?"

Yes, Joe Mantello.

re: Most Unexpected Closing Announcement

"Once Lithgow left in Jan of 06, it never recovered."

Which is a shame, as Pryce was INFINITELY better than Lithgow.

re: Megan Hilty in '9 to 5' and 'Wicked'

Obviously this isn't the case for Megan or the producers wouldn't have allowed it. I'm sure they knew about it, and I'm sure she had it okayed in advance.
re: Spring Awakening to Close January 18

Oh, if only!
re: Photo Flash! Broadway circa September 1980!

These are fantastic, Brody. Thank you so much for sharing.
re: I Was Looking At The Ceiling and I Saw the Sky

The piece is anything but "lame," but KJisgroovy was right that it isn't a musical by any means. The music lacks anything resembling a melody, and the accompaniment is very bizarre in places. It isn't my favorite piece of Adams', but if you're in the mood for a more classical piece, I'd give it a listen. It's interesting to hear Audra sing a role written for a Latina at the very least.
re: Bob Fosse is rolling over in his grave right now...

I agree with NYC4Life. The video is stylish and electric. I think its homage to Fosse makes it that much better.
re: vocal flubs

"On "The Wild Party" Recording (LaChiusa) in the song "People Like Us," the lyric goes:
People like us,
We get BY through the day...

On the recording it is sung:
People like us,
We get through the day..."

I just looked at the score, and the lyric is printed as "People like us: / We get thru the day." Perhaps the lyric was printed incorrectly in the CD booklet.

re: BLACK WATCH- has anyone rushed?

I saw the show at UCLA last fall, and it was spectacular. Don't miss it.
re: TV/Stage Actor Gale Harold Injured in Motorcycle Crash

Any news on how he's doing today?
re: VANITIES starts Feb 2nd

I agree with BigFatBlonde.
I saw the show closing weekend and it was dreadful, except the final two scenes. I hope a LOT changes before Broadway.

re: Doubt Movie Trailer

Oh, wow, I didn't know that! Thanks, Byron. That's really interesting.
re: Doubt Movie Trailer

"Regarding the score, the print I saw still had the Philip Glass score...which sounded like a Philip Glass score."

I love Philip Glass, and have recently noticed that a lot of composers have been mimicking (either intentionally or unintentionally) his sound. I think Glass could write a phenomenal score for Doubt, much like his music for Notes on a Scandal, but if Howard Shore is, indeed, writing it, I think he'll do well, too.

And, in regards to Meryl playing the rol
