Posted: 12/6/05 at 5:52pmI HAVE to go see this play. Is someone replacing Adrianne Lenox?
re: Jena Malone makes her Broadway debut in Doubt#7

Lenox is staying on.
Although, Angela Bassett would be divine.

Bassett is going to have her hands full soon -- she and her husband Courtney Vance are having a surrogate carry twins for them due to be born very shortly.

Good lord. Yet another virtual senior citizen goes to every length to have children. Why, God, why?

Thanks, Margo. I had no idea.

Another "Wow" from me too.
How old is Sister James supposed to be? In the end, it's more impt that Sister James is innocent/naive, but there's practically a 10 yr difference btwn Heather and Jena.

Posted: 12/6/05 at 6:09pmjena is so great and tremendously talented. congrats to her!
re: Jena Malone makes her Broadway debut in Doubt#13
Posted: 12/6/05 at 6:15pmVirtual senior citizen? She's 47, and Courtney is 45. They've been together almost 10 years so maybe they were trying until it became too risky for her to carry to term and so they went another way? That was a really low comment Rath.

Sorry - I just think there's a reason we're not supposed to (and most people's bodies won't let them) get pregnant after a certain age.
There are plenty of children who need good homes. Call me old-fashioned.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing.

Posted: 12/6/05 at 6:32pmYay! As nerdy as it sounds, I have loved her since Stepmom, and Donnie Darko.

Posted: 12/6/05 at 7:08pmShe is so good in the new PRIDE & PREJUDICE! Good for her!
re: Jena Malone makes her Broadway debut in Doubt#18
Posted: 12/6/05 at 7:09pmDoes this qualify her for a Best Replacement Tony nom...or is it just for Lead Actor/Actress?

Gah! I'm such a huge fan of hers, so I definitely want to see her in this! I'm very excited.

Posted: 12/6/05 at 8:12pm#1Elphie, shall I consider it a date for next semester? I was considering popping back in to Doubt to see Atkins and Eldard, and this has definitely tipped the scales for me. I was not a fan of Goldenhersh, and I rather enjoy Malone, so count me in!

She was one of the most talented child actresses I've ever seen (though I hated Bastard Out of Carolina, she was brilliant in it) and has grown into an exceptional actress as a young adult.
I wonder how she'll fare on stage. I'm sure she'll be fabulous. Now I have to add this to my list of shows I must see.
