Aren't they filming the new season of Orange? Danielle has missed some performances for that reason.

I saw Jenna last summer in The Wedding Singer at the PCLO and I thought she was wonderful. Super happy she is returning to Broadway! She'll be a great Dawn.

Is there any info out there yet about how long Jenna will be stepping in for? The article just seems to have a start date of 7/29.

I'm wondering if it's not OITNB related because even if it was, Danielle isn't taking a leave of absence, she just misses performances here and there. Kimiko didn't tweet about this either, and no mention about how long she will be out also gives me an odd impression. I hope everything is okay with her.

I'm a  bit skeptical about that too, but in reality Kimiko and Danielle are two different people. Maybe it is more stressful to Kimiko to be in two things at once rather than Danielle. Maybe she has something else planned after OITNB finishes filming thays not yet announced.

I don't know if this has anything to do with anything but Kimiko was out for the Saturday matinee on 7/16.  I honestly had no idea she was the same person that is in OITNB! 

Stephanie Torns was incredible as Dawn though and I'm so glad I got to see her!

I don't follow them religiously but I do follow quite a few Waitress cast members on social media and I've seen photos of Torns in costume as Dawn several times over the past week. I wouldn't be surprised to see that Glenn is out on her leave as of now.

After looking up some photos with location as Waitress the musical on instagram, I wouldn't surprised of Kimiko left already. As preious reporters mentioned Stephanie has been a lot as Dawn, She was on tonight and it looks like Molly Jobe has either joined or joining the cast (Maybe filling for Stephanie while she is Dawn before Jenna comes?) https://www.instagram.com/p/BH2ZAplAMh6/?taken-by=mollyelizabethj

It seems that a lot of the actors are on vacation. Two weeks ago nick Cordero was out for the week. Last week it was Kimiko out for the week and now Christopher is off. I guess they are each taking some time this summer.

I skimmed through the periscope and from what I heard, he didn't confirm it was because of orange. Someone asked about her leaving and he said something along the lines of: kimiko is taking a leave but she'll be back. But go see it Jenna Ushkowitz...and Jessie mueller!!

Not sure who suggested it was for filming OITNB. It's true - she has some filming obligations but they're not for OITNB...  Anyway, she is fine. There's nothing wrong. An early-to-mid September return makes sense.
