Jennifer DiNoia gets lead!

Her official facebook confirms it! Jennifer will replace Nicole Parker as lead Elphaba in mid-july! :) Any thoughts on this matter? Congrats Jennifer! This spot was well deserved!

I've worked with Jennifer, and she's a sweetheart! This couldn't happen to a better person. And (while I don't care for the show), her Elphaba is fantastic!

After seeing both Jennifer and Nicole in the role, I have to say Jennifer was quite better. Much braver on the riffing, and equally as talented an actress. She absolutely deserved it!

My friend texted me earlier today with the news. I'm happy for her... but not the biggest fan of her. I'll have to see, I'm only judging from recordings on that site, she's probably better live. Although I have to say I would have much rather had Julie Reiber get the lead being I find her voice much better... she's been slapped in the face twice now... once in LA and once on Broadway.


You really should re-name this thread, I knew what it meant, but most people probably don't.

She may have taken the news off her facebook because if she just has an offer, and no contract, it could jeopardize the whole situation. Plus the producers would rather have the news go out via press release, not someone's facebook.

As much as I love Julie Reiber, I don't like her Elphaba as much as I have some others, namely Caissie Levy who DID take over the role. Amazing actress with an amazing voice, that Levy is.
