sorry to go off topic but, Daisy Hilton...you really look a lot like the actress Lauren Collins who is Paige on Degrassi The Next Generation. Thats a good thing.

Now, I think I've seen everything. If you saw Jennifer Laura Thompson rehearse, WickedFan, she must have just started, since it's a month until her first performance. So, you saw her do a few things not in costume, lighting or with an orchestra, where she was probably learning her music and or blocking for the first time, and you deign to pass judgment on her "performance"? And then, you identify your relationship to the assistant of the show's producer? I hope the assistant is kicking himself now. With fans like you, who needs detractors? Why not just review the first time she opens the script? Pass judgment on her when she's played a performance, on July 20 or afterward.

I think Jennifer will be fine in WICKED. They chose her out of a lot of other actresses which means they have faith that she will do good work. She possesses such as clear voice with a wide range. She has a solid, strong belt to go along with that high soprano voice. I've seen her perform in two contrasting roles and found her end product amazing. She wouldn't be getting broadway work if she didn't have the talent. To the one that sat in on a rehearsal, please shut the hell up. You are beyond idiotic. It's rehearsal. That's where the journey begins as well as the growth of a character. For all you know she was marking. I try to enjoy these threads but it's people like you who **** it all up. Have a nice day everyone. Happy 4th of July!

Wow. This is...amusing. I really think it is funny how so many pointless arguments come up on these boards. JLT can perform the role. She wouldn't have been hired otherwise. Period.

Remember that one of the best parts of a replacement cast member is a redefinition of the role. JLT will not be KC, but she will still be amazing in her own way.

I didn't have the Urinetown cast recording when this was first announced, so now I can give my opinion. JLT is a very good choice for Glinda, and she has a beautiful voice. The part in Follow Your Heart (the second time she is listening to Bobby's heart) is amazing! It sounds like she will be great in it. Good Choice

I can't wait to hear about someone else's interpretation of the role. I'm fed up with Cheno's perkier than thou presentation. It'll be nice to see someone play it with reality. Not that anyone else could have originated it, the role is Cheno's, but it'll be nice to have a change...

i think that jlt will be a wonderful g(a)linda. after hearing the obcr of urinetown, it's obvious to me that she has the range and spunk to succeed in this role. sure, she will not be cheno, but then again no one is cheno! i say that somepeople who are reluctant to giving jlt a chance before seeing her in the role, should think before they act.

I don't think there will ever be a cast as wonderful as this, and I will never be able to enjoy another Glinda in the same way I enjoy Kristin. HOWEVER, Kristin's got other things on her plate and I'm glad JLT is taking over. I don't think JLT will try to play Glinda the exact same way Kristin does. It would be way worse if someone tried to immitate her because it simply can not be done.

Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH! 8/21/05

I think the casting that should cause us more worrying is Joey McIntire as Fiyero. How good is he?

I saw Kristen in 'Wicked' and I enjoyed her but some of you fans are mean. Other people can do the role! I'm very happy for Laura and believe it or not, just because people haven;t played a part like something before doesn't mean they can't do it- let alone do it well. If nothing else, Laura makes a beautiful Glinda. She looks so elegant in the picture and I'm sure she'll play the role wonderfully. -Penny

Hey, I'm new here.

I just wanted to point out Jennifer herself has admitted her voice cannot hit the elaborate high notes that Kristin made so famous. But that was never required for the songs. Kristin added them on. So that's just something I'm a little disappointed with because I loved Kristin's voice, not just her role, and I loved her high notes. But I'm sure Jennifer will play a great Glinda. She has said she's going to play it the way she wants and not try to play it the way Kristin played it which is a good idea.

I'm going to see it next month, so I'll see how the new cast is then. I've heard the actor who plays the Wizard now isn't that good. They should have kept the understudy, Sean McCourt, as the Wizard. I thought he was great last time I saw it, better than Joel Grey.

Also, I'm not that concerned with Joey McIntyre being in it. At first, I was, but I believe he does have the voice for it, so I just hopes he acts well. In the end, Fiyero isn't that much of a lead role. I saw Derrick Williams as the understudy for Fiyero last time, and I was thinking, I was worrying about JM, I'd probably prefer him. I didn't really like DW's portrayal that much. He seemed like he had a lisp to me? But God, I was happy enough that Kristin and Idina were both there. Updated On: 7/25/04 at 11:21 PM
