I think it would be possible, She has a very strong belt. Why do you guys need to keep attacking? state your opinions, fine, but don't go insulting!

Yipes, someone asks a simple "what if?" question and gets ripped to shreds. And it's not a particularly wild idea- I know the producers saw several actresses that they considered for both roles for the tour. And yes, actors do sometimes shift roles, especially in long runs, to give themselves new challenges.

And in True West, the actors swapped roles regularly and those roles were at least as different as these. In the upcoming "Odd Couple" revival, Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick plan on switching parts from time to time to keep it fresh.

Personally, I thought it would have been interesting to see Hugh Jackman to play Jud every once in a while.

Oh well...I think it's an interesting idea Bjivie-- but I haven't seen JLT yet so I can't comment on your idea other than say I think about things like that all the time.

I think JLT is perfect where she is. Why switch her when she's getting rave reviews in one role (and I think Glinda is a completely different role than Elphaba. Since JLT is so good at being perky and "blonde" it would be hard for her to drop that to be Elphaba - not to mention weird.)
So here's a question for all of you. Do you think one person could swing between both roles? it would take one hell of a talent but I'd love to see one person do both -- well that is.
