At this point in her career, Tony Award nominated Simard is aiming more for Vera Charles at least.  Her “Gooch” days were plentiful.  Let Jackie Hoffman tackle Gooch, which she’d be more than thrilled to do.  The pregnancy would add endless opportunities for her performance ad-libs.

Some ambitious regional/summer stock theatre should do Mame with 3 actresses who could conceivably play Mame, Vera, and Gooch, and they all rotate between each part.

Some of these ladies aren't age appropriate, buuuuut...

Christine Ebersole unsuccessfully led the 1999 revival production at Papermill (her Vera was Kelly Bishop and Gooch was Leslie Kritzer).
