Well...I think Jessica is taller than 5'...just an FYI.

But that's really besides the point. The girl can't really sing. She merely screams her notes. Seriously...its drives me nuts. She's going to ruin her voice if she keeps using it in that way. I really don't think she could pull of Millie...and I don't see the producers bringing someone in who hasn't had any professional acting experience. I actually really like the show and I would be very disappointed if they cast Jessica.

I'm really sorry that the production team has to bring in someone like Simpson when there are so many talented starving actors out there, not to mention how it leaves a bad taste in your mouth for Simpson to take over after someone who has done a remarkable job like foster.

I find it believable that it goes to prove that eye candy is more popular then real true classic talent.

This is ridiculous! It is obvious that Anth was joking! Anyway, I agree that I would like to see Coleen Sexton take over Millie! I would run to the Marquis! She is so adorable and sexy, and she has the most amazing voice. Not to mention she brought a vulnerablilty to the role of Lucy in J&H, but at the same time knew how to be a spunky little thing! She would be a great Millie.

not sure if this thread is in earnest or not, but i did enjoy Simpson in PRINCESS DIARIES. i also think anyone who can land Lachey has to have some kind of acting ability. They'd have to feign interest in something about him other than his admittedly amazing looks.

RobbieJ, what if Joyce deWitt went in as Mrs. Meers? and BTW, shouldn't your icon be wearing a veil given her co-star's recent tragedy? i can just see her being "the strong one" and supporting Suzanne Somers (the original Jessica Simpson, right down to the ponytails) and Audra "Mrs. Roper" Lindley in the time of crisis. Even Larry and Don Knotts would be impressed with her fortitude.

I just have to say that Jessica Simpson is just about the best thing on T.V. right now. If you haven't seen her show on MTV you are missing out!! Mind you, she is absolutely stupid but that is what makes her great. As far as being in "Millie"....horrible idea! She couldn't do it vocally. Did you hear Jessica recording "the sweetest sin" on the show? She was soooo flat and was singing directly from the throat. Don't be mislead, I love to hear a girl belting but I would much rather hear Sutton than Jessica. I agree, Coleen Sexton would be great. I couldn't believe her voice in J and H!

I saw Jessica on "When I Was 17" on MTV, and there were clips of her dancing and playing Cassie in A Chorus Line, and she looked and sounded phenomenal. However, Millie wouldn't work for her. I would absolutely LOVE to see her as Amber in Hairspray. And as for the Coleen as Millie idea, I'm in love with it, and she DEFINITELY needs to come back to Broadway.
