Jessie Mueller on vacation

Hi all, 

I read that Jessie Mueller is out on vacation, not sure if it was scheduled.  Has anyone seen her understudy.Thinking of bringing some friends to the theatre this week.

I think she's out throughout this week. There's no info on the website, but they bothered having Playbills printed out with her understudy labelled as "jenna" instead of typical slip-ins so I'm guessing it is for at least a week, if not more.

If she's indeed out, consider taking your friends to The Color Purple. Heather leaves in 2 weeks. I wish I was in NYC to catch the show one more time with these 3 ladies.

Yes Jessie will be back next Tuesday. Her understudy Stephanie Torns is wonderful as is the rest of the cast.

Walked by the theatre earlier and Jessie still seems to be out (she was meant to be back today). Does anyone know what's going on? Hope she's ok.

This program which happened on Monday 9/19 has Jessie's understudy, and also Keala's, representing Waitress.

I don't think that performance represents anything. For broadway in Bryant park charity and Stephanie also did the performances. Though the playbill of this week seems to have Jessie back in, so who knows what is happening.

I saw Stephanie's performance on Saturday. I will say I was upset I didn't get to see Jessie, but Stephanie was great. There was only one small qualm I had with her performance. I missed Jessie's normal scenery chewing self awareness she usually brings to her performances. Jessie is able to bring an audience to its knees with just a  a smirk or an eyebrow raise.  That is something that has little to do with Stephanie, as it does with Jessie being such a great performer. Its also is likely why Jessie quickly rose to be the new It Girl of Broadway in such a sort time. Remember she only made her Broadway debut 5 years ago in On a Clear Day You Can See Forever.
