Oh I would so totally be there if Lydon is in it, but he tends not to stick around if he doesn't like something.

Johnny Rotten from the Sex Pistols doing a musical, wow.

When I read the headline AND the article on this site I was really shocked that Michelle Williams is doing this. I didn't even bother looking at the date, which would've gave away that it isn't the same Michelle Williams. It wasn't until I checked this thread to see what people's thoughts on her doing this was and I read the first post that I realized it's a different Michelle Williams...
According to the website, its a North American tour. Here's hoping for Toronto!
Without Tim Minchin, I'm not really interested. He's the only hing that got good reviews overseas. If he could Andrew could have swung Chris Cornell as Jesus, either kept Minchin or gotten someone like Adam Lambert or Gerard Way as Judas, gotten either Nicole Scherzinger or Amanda Palmer as Mary, and maybe gotten some aging rockstar as Pilate then I would be there with bells on. I'll probably sit this one out. It's the most D list cast I've ever seen.
@fashionguru_23 The Toronto stop will be on June 26, 2014 at the Air Canada Centre.
I was toweling off this morning when, suddenly, Michelle Williams was on GMA with some folks singing the title song. I was almost certain I was still drunk from last night. Now it all kind of makes sense. Kind of.

I wish they were coming to Trenton but with Philly and NYC so close I guess they didn't want to over-saturate the market.

Not til the end of the run, August. I can just see it now, Rotten will drop out before the tour gets to this neck of the woods.

I was so confused because when you click Michelle Williams's name in the article it takes you to CABARET Michelle Williams...
Also if you watch the clip from this morning she blatantly didn't know the words, tries again, and eventually just dances while the back up singers do the real work. Michelle, always the bridesmaid.

It's $1000 cheaper than a KISS Meet and Greet with two fake members.
I was semi-excited by this, but ugh! Michelle Williams? I was so underwhelmed by her in the "Fela!" tour, that I'm not looking forward to hearing how she will butcher "I Don't Know How To Love Him".

@johnnycantdecide, have you heard Cornell sing live in the last like 8 years. There is no WAY he could handle those vocals especially with how Lloyd Webber wants Jesus sung now. Honestly this whole thing looks like a mess. Boyd has been off the mark since the last Incubus album which I think was 11. I would love to have seen Minchin do this in North America, but he's kinda box office poison in America, outside of NY, given his outspoken Atheist views.
It's not his atheism that has him as box office poison- he's never even raised huge controversy. It's just that as a cabaret artist/singer/comedian, he is a huge star in Australia, a decent star in the UK and a minor presence in America. Other than a season playing thinly-veiled Noel Gallagher on Californication he hasn't really done a major American project ever.

No, but he has had multiple concerts "cancelled" in the US for his views. They talked all about it in his New Yorker interview.

"but he's kinda box office poison in America, outside of NY, given his outspoken Atheist views."
I know. They had to give away tickets to Twelfth Night on Broadway because of that outspoken atheist Stephen Fry.
I hope Lydon stays with the show at least until it gets to my neck of the woods. Having the opportunity to see him in a musical is worth the price of admission.

How awkward was it to watch Michelle Williams not know the lyrics to the title song live on television...?
