"Whats up with Betty Buckley playing in PP in London? She was born in 47, Kristin in 68. Big age difference there. Personally Buckley is too old."
Seriously? As ljay said, Buckley was Fran in the original London Promises. They just released a limited pressing of that Cast Recording on CD for the first time.
Do some simple elementary research before you flip out.
Neil Patrick Harris is a PERFECT choice!! He is the perfect example of the little guy who will do anything to work his way to the top! Totally believable! I am liking the Zoey Deschanel idea too
Neil and David would be both perfect in this show. How ironic is that if I say anything about Bernadette Peters being 22 years older than Catherine Zeta playing the same role, people tell me that I'm "ageist" but then again everyone says Kristin and Amy are too old to be Fran in PP?

Big difference. Desiree is the mother of a 12-13 year old & big name actress. And Bernie can pull of CZJ's age.
Fran is 20.

Dollypop.....Loretta Switt is simply too "busy" to appear on a Broadway stage. She is currently appearing in a play at our dinner theatre in Jacksonville, Florida!
I said it before but I would love to see Megan Hilty play the role.
If it were my money in the show, I wouldn't want to extend it without someone like Hathaway, NPH, or Deschanel & Gordon-Levitt.

I think that Eric McCormack would make a fine addition. John Stamos is a good pick too.
Re: NPH in Promises, Promises
In my DREAMS! Also in my dreams, NPH as Bobby Baby in Company.
If only he'd leave HIMYM and get his ass back to Broadway already!!!
Stamos was horrible in H2$...perdy to look at, but awful.
John Stamos has always been a guilty pleasure for me. Althought, he's not the most amazing actor, he's fun to watch and very charming. Plus, he has a nice voice. And I think Hayes has a very nice voice aswell. But, Stamos is too old for the part, I think.
When I heard Chenoweth had the part, I was dissapointed. I love her, but thought she was way too old for the part. I had never seen Promises, Promises but I'm a huge fan of The Apartment. I've seen it a billion times. And I was familiar enough with it to think Hayes was a weird choice, but I thought he pulled it off.
Zach Braff could be a possibility. He has a good enough voice to pull it off. or possibly, Hunter Foster.
And I think Leslie Kritzer could be good as Fran. Although, I do also like the idea of Spanger.
Smaxie, I've never found NPH especially attractive, but in the photo you posted to prove he wasn't too good looking for the role, he looks very sexy, totally . . . effable.
muscleftl, many feel that 40 is too young for Desiree or just barely old enough. Remember that the original actress in the role was 49 when the show opened.
There are very few actresses of Peters's age who I think can look the proper 45-50 or so that makes most sense for the role, but she can and does. (And I was a little skeptical that she could look young enough until I saw her in the show.)

I understand when you're coming from. The 1st production of this show I ever saw, was in San Francisco and they used an actress that looked 60yo to play Desiree. They also had an old Fredrick, and the show simply didn't work for me.
I feel like Desiree should have some pizzahz and some sexiness, since there are 2 men fighting over her. I don't find Peters sexy. She is very pretty, but not sexy.
