I was watching an E! True Hollywood Story of Full House and they say that John Stamos played Finch after Matthew Broderick left. Did anyone see him? How was he?

This was back in 1995 when Matthew Broderick took his vacation. John Stamos' stint in the show was very well received, and Megan Mullally spoke about playing opposite 'the sweaty Greek' recently on her new talk show (she also had him as a guest recently).
For those who didn't know...Megan originated the role of Rosemary in the revival, therefore she played Rosemary opposite John Stamos' J. Pierrepont Finch. When she finally left the show, she was replaced by Sarah Jessica Parker who played opposite Matthew's J. Pierrepont.

Posted: 12/29/06 at 8:59pmJohn Stamos was good in this show and "Cabaret". And don't forget that "The Karate Kid" himself, Ralph Macchio, played the role in the First National Tour. I saw Matthew, John and Ralph and they were all good.

Stamos was actually very good. I actually enjoyed his singing much more than Broderick. Broderick openned the show with Mulally and then went on a vacation. Stamos came in and did the show with mulally for few months and then Broderick came back and did the show with sarah jesica parker. I saw all three iterations and really thought that Stamos/Mulally was the best combo. The briefly announced and heavily advertised Machio as coming to B'way, but it did nothing for sales and they just put up a notice after about 2 weeks IIRC.

Everyone was expecting to see Matthew Broderick and when they arrived to see that John Stamos was in the role, the reaction was pretty much: "John Stamos?? You mean Uncle Jesse from 'Full House'?!" To their surprise, they very much enjoyed him.
